The Umatilla County Special Library District was created by the residents of Umatilla County to provide public library service throughout our county. We work in partnership with the county public libraries to fulfill our mission.
Our library district is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors who are elected to serve by the people. Board members serve 4-year terms, unless filing to fill a vacated position. We have two 4-year term at-large positions and one position with 2 years remaining in a vacated at-large position on the ballot in the upcoming election in May.
The deadline for filing to run for a District Board of Director position is March 18th – coming right up! Please help share this information with any library supporters who are interested in shaping and guiding library services district-wide.
People who would like to run for a Board of Director position need to complete the form SEL190 and submit the completed form and $10 (checks made out to Umatilla County Elections). The form and check can be submitted to Umatilla County through the mail, dropped into the ballot boxes in Hermiston or Pendleton, or submitted in person in Pendleton – call them first.
If you have questions about the positions, feel free to contact Erin McCusker, District Director, at email@example.com or at 541-276-6449. If there are questions about the election, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
