AcademicInfo is an online education resource center with extensive subject guides and distance learning information. AcademicInfo was founded in 1998 by Mike Madin, a librarian coordinator, and is now maintained by multiple contributors. Their mission is to provide free, independent and accurate information and resources for prospective and current students (and other researchers).
American FactFinder
You can use American FactFinder to find statistics about population, housing, economic and geographic data. You can also view a list of U.S. Census Bureau products; create reference and thematic maps and search for specific data. You can print and download data.
Annenberg Political Fact Check
The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. They are a nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. They monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases. Their goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.
